NOW WITH THE ADDED OPTION OF PADDED HANDLES!

A lead that works like a shock absorber, protecting you and your dog from a sudden pull.

The Bungee Pupee Expandable Dog Lead is a new and comfortable way to walk mans best friend. This amazing new idea for walking your dog has been manufactured in the USA for some years now and we are the ONLY UK DISTRIBUTORS of these 3ft expandable leads.

WHY CHOOSE BUNGEE PUPPEE LEADS?

Ordinary Leads Jar and Injure Bodies - both dog & human!
When a dog suddenly pulls or jerks on its ordinary lead, its body and throat are jarred by the unexpected tension. This can leave the dog with undiagnosed muscle and skeletal injuries that are aggravated every time this jerking occurs. Not only does this jarring effect the dog, the handler can also have back, shoulder and arm injuries from the dog's sudden movement.

It Acts as a Shock Absorber & Reduces Pulling Power of Your Dog
Bungee Pupee leads overcome this problem by acting like a shock absorber - reducing the likelihood of dogs or their owners hurting themselves if the dog pulls or jerks suddenly.

Nothing to pull against!
When a dog is attached to an ordinary rigid lead, line or extendable lead, the dog can feel the human holding the other end and can therefore put its weight against it and PULL. However, as the Bungee Pupee Lead expands as the dog begins to move forward, and automatically contracts before the dog reaches the end of the lead, the dog has nothing RIGID to pull against or rest its weight on.

Perfect Timing EVERY TIME
Dogs learn to lunge and pull because usually it works! If it manages to pull its human along most of the time, then it is worth having another go to see if it is rewarded again. This amazing lead overcomes this problem because it CONSISTANTLY brings the dog back every time, and the TIMING IS PERFECT (because the lead makes the decision).

Recommended by Vets and Chiropractors
This lead has been used for several years in the USA and is recommended by several vets, animal & human chiropractors, and doctors for the protection of both you and your pet.

The "Claw" Clip is Easy to Use and a Great Safety Feature
Another benefit of this lead is its "claw" clip, which swivels at the end of the lead. The pressure point for the thumb is very easy to find and the clip has to be opened quite some way before it can come undone - a reassuring safety aspect to prevent dogs suddenly escaping.

WHICH STRENGTH OF LEAD IS RIGHT FOR YOUR DOG?
They come in four different sizes, depending on the dog's weight and pulling strength. Although each strength of lead has guidelines as to the maximum weight of the dog, we have found that certain dogs have greater pulling power than is expected for their body weight - particularly those with high levels of adrenaline in their bodies. We have listed "typical" breeds of dogs for each of the sizes to help you choose -

1 cord - Puppies and small dogs up to approx. 25 lb (11.34 kg) in weight (eg. small terriers). It is often effective in training young puppies not to pull as there is no tension for it to pull against and it does not learn "bad habits".

2 cord - Small dogs up to approx. 45 lb (20.41 kg) in weight
(eg - Cocker Spaniels, Terriers, small Border Collies etc)

3 cord - Medium dogs up to approx. 65 lb (29.48 kg) in weight
(eg - Springer Spaniels, Border Collies, Labradors etc)

4 cord - For large dogs up to approx. 165 lb. (74.84 kg) in weight
(eg - German Shepherds, large male Labradors etc) and "Serious Pullers". The 4 cord has been "test driven" by a Great Dane to great effect!

HOW DO YOU "TEST DRIVE" IT?
  • If it is working correctly, the lead should extend some way and then gently and consistently spring back, absorbing all the jerks that may happen.

  • If the dog pulls or jerks on the lead and it stays extended, the lead is not strong enough and you should use a lead with more cords in.**

  • However, if the lead does not extend at all (ie it acts like an ordinary lead) you should use a lead with fewer cords in it.**

  • The lead's performance can be improved by the handler gently pulling in the opposite direction as the dog jerks forwards, however, this is not imperative.

** If you find that your new Bungee Pupee Lead is too strong or too weak, please return it to us for a refund and then order the correct size. Some customers order two different sizes and then return the one that is not suitable. We will happily refund these returns (less P&P) as long as the cardboard packaging has not been removed from the handle of lead.

We strongly recommend that this Bungee Pupee Lead be used with a well fitting HARNESS so that there is absolutely no sensation in the dog's neck or throat (which often triggers a dog to repeat the "old" pulling behaviour). Further details about why dogs pull can be found on our main web site.

The Bungee Lead can be used effectively with a well fitting flat collar (NOT a choke chain - see our guest article about choke chains) but we recommend that it should not be used with any type of head collar, Gentle Leader, Halti etc
