Managing Director of Dog Games Ltd
Sean worked for the UK Scientific Civil Service for 35 years mainly within the Ministry of Defence but also within other Government service. During this time he acquired an apprenticeship, completed a degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering and is part way through an MBA in Business, whilst also partipating in the ISCP training courses.. Sean deals with the research, production, managerial and financial aspects of the business.
In these roles, Sean acquired very broad scientific/technical knowledge and experience from taking projects from 'blue-sky' research (from HF to mm frequencies) through research to field trials, development and production, including computer management and computer programming. Proof reading and critique of many scientific papers and reports were required as well as providing answers to MP's questions from the House of Commons. This proof-reading proved very useful in reading and critiquing Sally extensive Behavioural website which he is now updating to work with all platforms.
Manufacturer of Dog Harnesses, Collars & Leads
Sally invented and designed these products. Sean researched and sourced the materials (all UK-based) required to make the prototypes, test them, reassess them and then streamline the design for production. Because of the success of these products, they are now being sold through outlets in Europe, Far East, Australia and North America and are highly prized and sought after by dog owners and trainers, behaviourists and vets all over the world.
Dog Training Programme
In 2003/4, Sally developed a new method of 1 to 1 training for dogs (Dog Games training) using the eight different Games she invented for pet dog owners to do either at home or at local dog clubs. Because no expensive or specialised equipment is needed, these Games can be done anywhere in the world. Sean was one of the regular trainers using this very successful method. Sally and Sean competed in Agility, Flyball, Clever Dogs, Obedience for nearly 20 years with our 5 border collies, Bobby, Ziggy, Bracken, Jet and BB. The first 3 were rescue dogs from Border Collie Trust (GB). Sean also qualified to judge Agility Competitions. We have always had very strong beliefs that dogs and handlers should be trained using kind positive methods, and that aversion techniques and negative reinforcement can have a profoundly damaging effect not only on the dog but its relationship with its owners.
