THE GREYHOUNDS PLEA by Margaret Maund

Look into my eyes
What do you see?
Lots and lots of love
I'd freely give to thee

My heart is looking
Let it not look in vain
I need a loving home
In sunshine or in rain

My days of racing
Are over and done
But I am sure we both
Could have lots of fun

A friend by your side
I am gentle and sweet
Contented to watch you
And to lay at your feet

I offer you devotion
And friendship's paw
Can we live together?
Please open your heart and your door
